Job Description

NextEra Energy Resources is one of the largest wholesale generators of electric power and renewable energy from the wind and sun in North America. Responsible for spearheading an upstream oil & gas production team that is tasked with the development and execution of our multi-basin drilling program, in addition to overseeing and representing our non-operated drilling activities with other industry participants. This is a multi-faceted position and will be responsible for the efficient and cost effective design and implementation of our upstream operations. The operations director will be a member of the company's operations asset management team that will plan, develop, and execute the drilling and production operations programs for the company. Also will integrate resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, and quality considerations for our upstream operations. Provide leadership and guidance as the Upstream Operations Director to represent the Gas Infrastructure business unit with upper management, existing and potential partners, operators and internal stakeholders. Production optimization, planning, maintenance, asset integrity, cost management as well as operability assurance for major projects. Collaborate with operators to ensure they are best in class in completions and field start-up plans, process control methods, operational policies and procedures. Integrate lean work processes while managing the execution of engineering work, schedules, and budgets. Also monitor progress to maintain schedules and budgets as well as identify and document scope changes. Partner with business development to increase the company's presence and capabilities in the space. Progressive experience with all project life-cycle phases (feasibility through implementation) and associated gated processes and have a high ability to manage multiple small projects simultaneously, yet can step up to lead larger projects when needed. Horizontal well design, planning, strategy, implementation, and completion execution Plan, develop and execute the drilling plan for each well and rig under supervision Monitor, direct, and advise the Drilling Superintendent and Well Site Manager in the day to day drilling operations Work collaboratively with Geology, Reservoir, Procurement, Land, and Production operations groups to implement new projects and execute the drilling schedule and drilling program Analyze, interpret, and integrate data from a wide variety of including daily drilling reports, directional surveys, mud reports, rig operations, AFE's and budgets, and geologic data to understand and improve the results of the drilling program in order to optimize and generate new techniques, procedures, innovations, cost savings, and cycle time reductions to enhance drilling operations and develop new economic opportunities Monitor the drilling industry and publications for new ideas and techniques including but not limited to: Proppant technology, Multi- stage frac techniques, Hydraulic fracturing technologies and completion process improvements, Refracturing methods, Equipment reliability, Benchmark other operators and transfer best in class technology to our operations Assist in preparation of management presentations and quarterly reviews Qualifications and completions
